Price:found online at party citys website (not in store), for 40 dollars without tax. found online and in store at Spirit of Halloween for 60 dollars without tax.NOTE: When I ordered it it was slightly over 40 dollars by a few cents, and did not have amazon prime shipping (though it did have free shipping). today, a week after ordering, it has gone just under 40 dollars for the same size, and the size I ordered has amazon prime free 2 day shipping.Size I ordered:I got an adults large. I am 5’5, weigh roughly 180 lbs. I am 33-34 inches on my waist and about 39 inches on my bust. The hip doesn’t matter because its a dress. my nearby spirit of halloween store did not have it, so I tried on something similar for size. this fit similarly to the costume I tried on of the same size. I suggest costume fitting at Party City. All of their costumes are made with the same materials. if something of a size fits you in store, something also sold by them online will fit similarly if not the exact same.Shipping time:I ordered this costume and got it in about a week. well in time for Halloween. it ships from California, and it was sent all the way to the eastern shore in that time.the product:all of the pieces look really great and detailed. The hat is rather flimsy. it fits the head well, and does stretch for larger heads like mine.the goggles are plastic, and cannot be seen out of. they are strapped with an elastic band. The goggles will not stay on without the hat, and the hat seems to stay upright best when used with the goggles around the band.the sash on the hat is not sewn onto the hat, so can be removed or adjusted. this also means it has a hard time staying in place. However, i did not buy the costume for any of the head accessories. I purchased this costume for the dress, and will not be using the hat/goggles, so their faults don’t bother me.the gloves, which I will be using, are a good fit. my hands are a medium size. the fabric would stretch for reasonably larger womens hands, and they wouldn’t be too large on smaller hands either. The dress is a perfect fit. I immediately noticed that one of the shoulders was not sewn properly. this resulted in that one shoulder scratching my shoulder severly during trying it on, due to the thick tulle that didn’t lay right. However, this is an easy fix for someone who has sewing experience. took less than 15 minutes. If the shoulder does not look like it has the poof or gathering that it should (it will be very clear if it doesn’t), the stitches will be easy to take out with a seam ripper. resew it together. about half an inch seam allowance does it well. I used the surging on the shoulder side as reference on how far I had to go back. After that is done both shoulders will have a similar look. if it still scratches your shoulder, which it did to me, whip stitiching the seam (I figured this out because the well done side had surging on the seam) will bind the tulle which scratches the skin, and should solve all problems. Now that that is out of the way, the dress is a nice length on me. slightly lower than mid thigh in the front, longer in the back. I knew the black tulle wasn’t included, but it looks fine without it, but if I had the money I would go buy a black hi-low tulle (there is one on amazon for 14 dollars).the costume is comfortable, not thick, not heavy, and not scratchy. it is also all in one piece, for easy wear.the ruffled sleeves aren’t too tight. they seem tight at first, but the elastic stretches very well to fit to whatever it has to, and it doesn’t bother me.I have a rather thick neck, and the neck is a comfortable fit on me. it seals in the back with two strips of Velcro on either side.I would recommend wearing this costume with a strapless bra or a bra with black/brown straps. the corners of the chest just above the bust go out just far enough for a small amount of bra strap to be seen. Also, this does show a bit of cleavage. For the costume to lay right I had to pull it down, which revealed a bit more bust than expected. It does fully cover my breasts, but the center does cut farther down. I cannot imagine the teen version of this costume being much different in that aspect.Overall:Wonderful costume, exactly what I was expecting though the one sent to me had an easily fixable defect. If you are buying this for yourself as an adult, I would say it is a very modest adult costume for the Halloween market of this day, and it does this without covering everything. Perfect for my tastes. If you are buying this for your teen daughter, realize that the length of the dress varies by height and size. I am 5’5, and with a large it goes just below mid thigh. if its a smaller size or if I am taller it would be shorter. also, the same goes for the chest. you may want your teen daughter to be a bit more modest than this costume can allow. it shows a bit of my chest, but it also isn’t a snug (but rather comfortable) fit on my chest. if its a smaller size, naturally that space and the area for her chest will be smaller, and would reveal less due to fitting. also, larger breasts would naturally create more cleavage for the dress to show. when it comes to modesty in the chest of this dress, it comes down to what size chest is being put into what size dress. the bigger either of those is, the less modest the dress may be.

The fit is on the small side–I expected this, so I bought a larger size, and it fits OK.This is a costume, so it is definitely on the thin, lesser-quality side. That said, it has some nice features and looks good! The “goggles” are not as bad as some have said, but they’re not going to fool any steampunk fan. My daughter has an awesome pair of steampunk goggles, though, so I easily preferred hers–I can see, though, why there are complaints about the goggles and hat not working well together. (I also have a steampunk hat I made out of duct tape and paint, so I didn’t use the hat). You might be able to stuff the hat in order to get it to keep its shape. I think your best bet, though, would be to cut the elastic on the goggles and pin them onto the hat.The dress is cute, if thin. You need to feel comfortable about exposing your décolletage–I found it impossible to find a white top to wear underneath that might look like convincingly like a blouse. It’s also a bit scratchy. I really didn’t think that would bother me, but it did irritate my skin on my arms.Note: as mentioned, the black tutu shown in the photo is not included with the costume (nor are the boots). I bought the tutu separately and was very disappointed–it was not smooth (even after a few days of “fluffing” upside-down), and it looked horrendous under the thin material of the skirt. This makes a great costume for Halloween, but not for anyone serious about Steampunk. Cute, but flawed.

OVERVIEWI had a lot of fun putting this outfit together and received a lot of compliments. Was even asked if we were headed to a cosplay gaming convention! I bought this outfit, the recommended petticoat (same vendor), stockings and a matching set of choker and fingerless gloves. I found everything on Amazon. The petticoat is must if you want to achieve that cute flared look. The choker and the fingerless gloves were a wonderful touch since they were metal, not plastic like this outfit’s accessories. I cut off the plastic buckles and wore the fingerless gloves over the top. It’s still a very cute outfit untouched.QUALITYIt’s pretty good quality for the price. The seams are even and neat. The material is thin but not sheer. The buckles and googles are plastic but for the price, that’s expected. Still very fun looking though, I wore the original googles with the outfit and people still thought I was cosplaying for an event!FIT/SIZEFits true to size. I am between 130lbs-135lbs (58kg-62kg) and 5’5 (165cm). A medium fit me perfectly with decent stretch still left for those who might be a different body shape :)TEENAGE APPROPRIATE (Yes!)For mums of teenagers, this a great outfit for a teen girl. The outfit is a little sexy without being too revealing. Changing the stocking can give this outfit a completely different look if you prefer more modest. Buy the correct size!ADDITIONAL INFOI made my husband’s hat from scratch for our outfits (bought everything off Amazon). The choker and gloves are from Daimay Bronzing fingerless gloves and lace choker (bought separately). I will definitely reuse these for other outfits!
