   When my son had to be a patriot drummer for a school production. This was the closet costume I could find to he needed to look like. So I left off the white sash since I think it was more of an officer designation. I had to purchase a tri-tip hat separately since it is not part of the costume package. I also left off the costume’s fake boots (shoe covers). I took an older pair of my son’s school uniform pants, turned them into knickers, and he wore long white socks with dark ankle boots. Overall the finished look was much more in line with a drummer. But this costume itself was quite cute. Also keep in mind that the vest is actually sewn to the jacket, not a separate piece of clothing. You will need a white t-shirt to wear underneath.

   Overall, we we’re happy with this purchase and got many compliments on my son’s Alexander Hamilton Halloween costume.The main component is the Jacket/vest combo. It’s one piece, constructed like a cardigan that looks like two pieces. The fabric had a slight stretch, but was thicker than most costumes. The colors were saturated. The buttons on the jacket are printed on, while the buttons on the vest are functional. The coat tails showed a contrasting red underlayer, which made the whole outfit look better. My son is a 10/12 and the XL fit well.The other components were ok. The boot covers looked good with the black loafers we paired them with. The scarf was a little skimpy, but looked ok. We completely discarded the belt. It made the whole outfit look worse.

   This is not like a Profesional style costume but for a short role on a school play it’s perfect. With accessories they are $90-$100 Other companies have more professional costumes but after accessories $200-$250. Those are better if your child has a leading role or a longer more formal play. For our 5th grade play this is super cute, love it , actually looks like Disney Mickey Mouse costume lol

   The size chart was a little lacking but we know we needed to get a bit big so we could have years of use.
