My 6 year old grandson has been playing Knight games on the iPad…he would then re-enact what he saw, but the only thing I had as a ‘weapon’ was a large squirt gun that we used to scare off a wild turkey. I went looking on the internet for a Knight sword and shield and came across this set – the reviews motivated me to purchase it, and I’m VERY glad I did. The detail is truly remarkable – the sword fits nicely inside the shield – there are two straps behind the shield: one for the arm to go into and the other to hold onto …highly impressive piece. My grandson LUVed it…had it with him the entire weekend he spent at my house. I would highly recommend.

I gave two shield and sword sets to two 10 year old boys for Christmas. Their dad had told me they were too old for “toys” like this. Both boys immediately strapped the shields on their arms and started in with sword play while the rest of the presents sat unwrapped. The swords seemed too sturdy for actual combat so we switched to foam bats for the bopping each other part of the play.

It was bought to be duel purpose. Halloween costume and wall art. It still hasn’t made it on the wall because it’s to fun to play with. It’s been through some hard battles but still not destroyed. I do make it a habit to yell “be easy” after hearing a sword smashing down on it but to my surprise it’s still holding together and when it does reach the wall of fame it will be battle-torn.

So I thought when I bought this that it would be to small for an adult. But it is actually not to bad. The sword that came with is a nice size as well. I’m pretty amazed. My 6 yr old and my husband now have matching Sheila’s to play with! They hold up to some pretty good hits.

It’s a great value and my son loves it. Use this as an opportunity to teach your boys how to play well with others. Then learn to trust them. We played with things that weren’t even plastic toys growing up unsupervised. Which would be unthinkable today and no one got injured other then small cuts and bruises which is part of growing up. And it’s still way safer then letting your child get addicted cell phones, video games or tablets. Boys will be boys but people on here have their priorities all backwards. Boys need more real toys that aren’t all soft and pacified.

Sturdy and a good size. Exactly as described.

It’s a costume piece so it isn’t going to be amazing. But for the money and what it is it is really nice. Everyone loved that the sword came out. Got lots of compliments.
Good One –
For our grandson. Good product for the money.
