We ordered this costume for Halloween this year on a Sunday and it arrived a day earlier than when it was supposed to, on Wednesday (which I was so happy about because I was worried about the sizing). We were thrilled to come across a “Mary Poppins” costume for children…especially one that looked as great as this one and in the style that my daughter was hoping for.When I received the costume I was surprised with all the pieces that came with it…jacket with real buttons, simple elastic waisted skirt, white collared dickey, red tie, shallow black hat, 3 flowers for the hat (velcro) and…a plastic bird head to stick onto an umbrella handle (I did not realize this was included and my daughter and I were so excited to find it in with the costume)! The costume looks just like the photo and is as good a quality or better than store bought kids Halloween costumes.I was confused about the sizing (and there were no reviews to help) so I took a guess. The kids size chart seems large…my smallish 10 year old daughter barely made the size chart so based on the size chart and intuition, I ordered a size smaller than I normally would have….which I panicked about later because I have always had to size up when buying Halloween costumes.Since I was confused about the sizing, I thought I would include my daughters and the costume measurements in my review so that maybe it would be helpful to someone to gauge against. She is a smallish 10 year old and about 53 inches tall and 60 lbs. 24″ ch, 22.5″ w, 28″ h. I decided to go a size smaller (M 8-10) than I was originally planning (L 10-12). The Medium (8-10) fits nearly perfectly (the jacket sleeves are a hair short for her, the waist is a little baggy and the skirt goes just to the top of her foot). The skirt is 30″ long, the skirt waist unstretched straight across is 12″, the sleeves to the jacket are 19.5″, from shoulder to the bottom is 22″, bust straight across is 13.5″, waist straight across is 13″, bottom of jacket is 22.5″ across. The jacket and skirt are made of polyester and are stretchy.The hat will be a bit tricky to figure out how to keep it on her head…there is an elastic band inside going across the inside back 1/4 of the hat which may be designed to help keep it on the head. Not sure how that works…wasn’t staying on when we tried it….it’s a shallow hat. There are also 2 tiny loops in the middle inside of each side of the hat that you can probably attach elastic to and put under the chin.The measurement/sizing info of a previous buyer is what would have helped me with the sizing so I decided to write a review and include this info. I am nowhere close to a seamstress so if what I measured is weird, I apologize. But maybe it will be helpful to someone.Now we are looking for a floral travel bag that she will use as her trick or treat bag….lol…Overall we are SUPER pleased with this costume (daughter says it’s her favorite one ever) and she can’t wait for Halloween! 🙂

We ordered this in a size 10-12, 1 size larger based on other reviews. The skirt was huge, but the jacket fit just right. It’s your typical Halloween costume material – not super durable, but does the job. We hot glued the flowers on so that they would stay better. This was perfect, and loved, and amazing!
