This mask looks really cool. The mouth has a black nylon in it so you cannot see the person wearing it, only some of their eyes. The back is covered by hair so it goes completely around your head which is nice. The mask straps with velcro around the back of your head. I found that I had to strap it extremely tight in order to move the hinges of the mouth and when I did, the hinges didn’t close back all of the way so the mouth stayed open slightly. It comes with some foam pads you can stick on the inside of the back to help it fit more to your head. To move the mouth, I have to open my mouth completely for it to open and close, it certainly doesn’t move while talking (which I didn’t expect but some may). The movement of the mouth is pretty neat however, even the tops lip curls up to make it look more natural. You can see a video of the movement below (even the mouth in the video doesn’t close all of the way)Overall, this mask looks great and if you really play with the configuration of the foam inserts, you may be able to achieve better functionality of the mouth movement.Video of mask[…]

I like the mask overall, but I have a few things to say about it.Pros:Awesome to surprise people with.Doesn’t look quite as menacing as the picture implies. Looks more friendly than anything.Covers the whole head and has a velcro strap to keep it on.Cons:Fur gets everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. I realized I was eating bits of it in my food the next day.The mask is slightly too big for the average head, so you may need to put some padding in.Nose “pad” is uncomfortable and unwieldy. It’s just a rectangle of foam, it’s better when you just remove it.Chin does not move easily or at all, depending on how creative you can get with your “padding” solution. But really, for a $25 mask which is kinda awesome looking and which you’re only gonna wear once a year, these cons were not really a dealbreaker. You’re gonna impress some people with this mask, guaranteed.

This is a great mask, although the mouth does not open nearly as wide as shown in the photo. But it opened enough for me. The mask is very realistic and a good fit with the option to add little foam “shims” to make it fit as good as possible. My only disappointment was that it arrived with two of the front teeth broken out. As the broken teeth were not loose in the shipping box, I can only assume that the mask was defective before being boxed. That indicates poor quality control, in my opinion. Because time was short, I didn’t have time to return it. Instead, I cut two replacement teeth from a plastic ibuprofen bottle and duct-taped them in place from behind. It worked but I was not pleased. Nevertheless, the overall experience with the mask was great and I can recommend the mask. I used it along with the California Costumes Men’s Adult Gorilla costume in a local parade and it was a big hit.

Great mask. I’m a large guy with a large-ish head, and it fits me fine, even if I forget to take my glasses off when I put it on. Has a strap with a velcro fastener that can fit around the back of your head to snug the fit and hold it in place. The jaw “ani-motion” thing doesn’t work very well if at all, but that’s not a deal-breaker for me. Though the photo shows someone wearing the mask on top of a gorilla suit, this is just the mask, with fur on the sides and in the back — it’ll come down below your jaw onto your neck. You won’t want to wear it for long — it’s hot in there — but it doesn’t take long for it to work its magic. I crack up my wife by occasionally wandering into the living room with it on, and I’m looking forward to wearing it to record the Happy Birthday videos I send my godkids. Yeah, I know — not exactly Saturday Night Live-level humor, but in small doses it’ll bring out your inner goofball, which is always good.

The face looks great and I can actually see out of it!! It’s comfortable and will store well. Also, this gorilla mask is not NEARLY as hot to wear as the lousy one that came with my gorilla costume, which is a big plus! The mouth articulation works much better than some of the other reviews noted– perhaps they didn’t read the directions regarding fit, where you are instructed to use the provided foam padding to fit the mask correctly so that the mouth works as expected!?!?Lots of fur falls off, but show me a gorilla mask that doesn’t do that and I will show you a mask that costs much more than this one. I can’t say enough how good the face looks. It’s great. That alone is worth the price.

Fits over my head fine (Adult). Can see out of it relatively easily and the comfort level is OK. The animate jaw is very fun although it can be a little stiff. Mask came with foam blocks for adjusting the fit that worked pretty well. For the price it’s a good deal. Much better than the cheaper masks I looked at and not as nice as the high end ones I looked at. Gave it five starts based on the price and value.

Great mask to go with the full outfit. Only issue is the jaw/mouth doesn’t move as much as expected.

It’s not exactly like the picture shows but it is a great mask.
