   nothing to see here – October 26, 2015

   I wear a solid 16 and 38dd in normal clothing.I bought the 2x costume and then read reviews and also ordered the 3x since some reviews said this runs way small. The 2x fit ok but had several of the loops in the front were ripped and or broken. This was a new costume so I can only chalk it up to really poor quality control. Luckily I had the 3x also and tried it on. The 3x fit well too.This style of dress has some leeway in it since the front is a loop and cinch style to make it fit. I preferred the larger of the two sizes since frankly the material is super cheap and I don’t want to have anything too snug since I want to get a few nights use out of this (halloween and disney cruise pirate night).If I wore it like the model is wearing it with the top super tight and busting out….well let’s just say with this material I might end up busting out. 😉 Over all this is a really good looking costume that can be more modest if you size up a size or two and def is modest in the leg department.

   Sizing:I based my purchase size solely on the measurements of bust/waist/hips (not weight or pants/dress size). It fit perfectly. I possibly could have even gone a size down (the vest cinched nearly closed below the bust). I am 5’5″ and the dress hung about 3-5 inches from the ground.Fabric:The fabric was decently heavy and warm. I found it to be almost too warm for the Halloween party I attended, and know that I personally could never handle wearing it to a summer Renn Faire with my low level of heat tolerance. It seemed to be high quality and was very comfortable. There is no need for a slip underneath the lower half, as neither of the doubled layers are remotely see-through, and the fabric is heavy enough that it won’t be billowing up for any reason. The ivory top, however, probably shouldn’t be paired with anything other than a nude bra as it’s a slightly lighter weight material and is super stretchy (but not immodestly sheer). At least one reviewer stated that the shirt/vest worked just fine without a bra but I would not recommend this at all.Cut and Quality:The dress arrived ready to wear and did not require any modifications, though I did choose to make some. The lacing held steady upon cinching it up the first time, but I opted to do a super quick stitch through each lace for my own peace of mind as I wanted it cinched tight under the bust. This was completely hidden and completely optional. Another change for my own peace of mind was to the top where it attaches to the vest. The ivory material is tacked in on the outer side of the vest sleeve then hangs freely across to the opposite side of the vest. I gave it a second tack on the inner side of the vest sleeve (by the bust) to keep it from draping too low and constantly having to make sure nothing was hanging out, as I’m decently top heavy. Overall, I’d say the quality is phenomenally high considering the price, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from this company again.

   Anytime I buy a costume, I try to get 2 sizes larger than what I would normally wear,, which is typically 1X, 16-18 unless the clothing is tight-fitting. I ordered a 3X, and found the dress to be a bit large. This was easy for me to work with, though. I pinned the top to the vest because I am not busty enough to fill the blouse, and the belt cinched the dress. I could have ordered a smaller size, but I am happy with the size that I got. It is a costume, not a formal. :-)The garment is high-quality for a costume. It is not a wear and toss costume, and it laundered well. I handwashed it, but I think it would be fine on the gentle cycle of a washing machine. I see no reason why I cannot wear it for a few more years. I would add that I expected to be too warm that day because most costumes require a layer or something underneath for decency. This costume is the exception. The skirt is a double layer, and nothing is transparent.The blouse, skirt, and vest are all sewn together. The belt is included. The hat is not included.

   I should have ordered one size up. The Wench dress is a little tight around the waist. Well made. I plan on losing 5 pounds before Halloween.

   I purchased the costume for an up coming Halloween party. I tried it on and it fits perfectly. It seems to be well made and true to color. I would recommend.

   As a plus size girl I was nervous to order a plus size costume. Usually the arms are too small or the cus it totally wrong. I have worn this twice for Oktoberfest season and I will be wearing for my son’s Halloween engagement party.I got a lot of compliments.

   I was disappointed to try this on and it was too small. It is a cute material but didn’t have much give to it. I would suggest ordering a size larger if possible.
