   I wanted this item to wear in a parade with a 1918 theme. I was in a hurry to get something quickly as my participation in the parade was last-minute, and the costume arrived on time for me to do that. I turned the collar up and pinned it with a marcasite pin. The material is not the most comfortable, and I almost washed it before wearing, then I read the label: spot clean only. It did survive the parade in case I want to wear it again. Everyone who saw me in it thought that it was a wonderful costume. I did wear a wide stretch belt underneath the green sash that comes with it and that helped keep the green sash from folding over on itself. Three stars only because of its limited life (inability to wash) and slightly uncomfortable material (I did get used to it and was not uncomfortable for long).

   Definitely check the size chart – I would normally wear mediums and larges but chose the XL for this one. I’m 5’8″ and average weight, the length was good for wearing a low heel. It’s a fairly straight fit but with elastic at the waist. The material is cheap polyester and the care label says it cannot be laundered or dry cleaned, so don’t eat spaghetti while wearing it. It also is clingy, so I recommend wearing a long slip or have a dryer sheet handy for frequent removal of static.The belt is a thin, cheap tie and the sash is pretty basic with flatlock finished edges. There’s a velcro closure at the top. I added a straw hat and made a sign with a wooden picket and white poster board. The front said VOTE, the back said RESIST, PERSIST. I wore my grandmother’s brooch at the collar and carried my mother’s ancient wooden rolling pin. I got tons of compliments on this costume. It’s a good basic costume for you to personalize and make it unique.

   Considering the quality of the costume, the cost is reasonable. Will only wear a couple of times at most. However, I normally wear a petite size 6 or 8. I ordered the Medium as I had read the other reviews. While the sleeves are fine, the bodice is tighter than I like. The item is actually a dress rather than a separate blouse and skirt, which is fine with me. The green sash is flimsy. I have a wide navy belt that I may wear in its stead. Due to the size variation, I am not sure that I would order this item again.

   Got this for a voter registration event. I’m 5’1″ and roughly 135lbs (also have had 4 kids and have the mom pouch lol). Ordered based on the size chart and got a medium. The skirt fits perfect. The shirt makes it seem like I have a chest to work with(36C) so the button across the bosom stretches enough to be noticeable. The sash does cover that spot. The sash only has color on the front. The back of the sash is white fabric like they use when something is embroidered to a shirt. It really makes it look cheap. The front of the sash is stiff and because of how it was rolled/ folded it is creased badly. The hat that it was recommended to buy with was shoved in the same bubble mailer and was badly damaged. It also didn’t match it the way it does in the picture so don’t waste the money on it. All that said it will do the job of getting attention to our booth and it’s not my worst Amazon purchase.

   I bought this product to be used in a middle school musical. It came just as described and held up for all dress rehearsals and performances, even with altering for size. It is very, very thin, but that worked well for our purposes. Would buy again.
